Working with PSA files Empty
PostSubject: Working with PSA files   Working with PSA files Icon_minitimeFri Oct 01, 2010 7:00 am

Hi Everyone,

Glad to have found a forum where JDA products are actually talked about by knowledgable people. I would like to ask some advice before I begin a development project, and I hope I have come to the right place.

What I am attempting to work on at the moment is a PSA file reader / writer. This is a handy programming object to have as it means you can effectively write any form of application to sit on top of the PSA file itself. What I have in mind is actually a simple application to allow the simultaneous capture of shelf design information and pricing on an Android / iPad tablet with a barcode scanner attached.

Where I am stuck is in a clear understanding of a few of the terms in the PSA file itself. I have the files structure and description from the /dumpcatalog fileswitch, but unfortunately this does not provide a heirarchy of 'objects'. I am guessing that the heirarchy follows that of the exposed COM API, but was wondering if anyone could confirm this?

Latsly there is a data type that I am not familiar with in terms of a Planogram or PSA file and yet it is part of the definition: Supplier (31 fields of info). We are not using IKB and I am wondering if this is a data set used only by the server? Or perhaps it is simply something I am overlooking.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
