| Several items shwoed up in my database this week beginning with "0040092". This is not a manufacturer's ID. In fact these items are in some phase of being discontinued. Is there a specific designation that this UPC represents ? Also, I have a an item that is a regular in-line item. Once the Bake Center went up, it gained a dual position in a PDQ tray on the Bake Center. It is the same exact item, just placed in a tray. Yet three Expaned Food stores have started to recognize it as a PDQ item when it scans. I'm sure somebody at Wal-Mart set up a second description for this UPC (the PDQ description), but how do these stores distinguish this item from the regular item ? | |

- No idea
- The stores distinguish between the two depending on what item number they're traited for. For an item to be traited on the planogram it has to have the following criteria. Status = A, Orderbook Flag = Y, Type = 33 or 20, CWO = N, Shelf Label Flag = Y.
I'm not sure if this helped or not. | |

| Did the upc begin with 00400 or was it 004000? Regardless it looks like a UPC that Wal-Mart generated for the item. Without knowing more specific information it is difficult to ascertain exactly what is transpiring. FYI 004000 UPCs are often created for PDQ and assortment items. The UPC should still be linked to the original item. | |
