change Internal FieldNames

Greetings form Canada! I am a new user of Space Planning by Intactix ,version 2006.2.0.5.

If anyone could help me how to change Internal FieldNames or Labels from the Product Library Library, for example "Description 1" to become "WMART#" and "Description 2" to become "TRU#".

I've tried in the Settings, as per "Help" instructions.

The minute I've changed the label, that field gets a red cross and disappears from Visible fields, so I must have done something incorrectly.

Be sure Space Planning/ProSpace is closed when you do this...

Click here to download a ZIP file from Walmart that will be used to rename your ProSpace field names. Save the ProSpace.pmd file into C:\Program Files\JDA\Intactix\Space Planning

Now when you open ProSpace it should have your field names renamed for you.

I'm based out of the U.S. so I don't know if Walmart Canada has a different file for you to download or not but I'm betting they don't.

Thank you Eric, but we share the same Planogram system for the whole company and for all accounts, so I wouldn't customize it just for Walmart.

Do you know any other way of changing field names, I would like to try only one or two fileds for now.

To change field names manually simply go to Settings/General on the menu the click on the Fields button. Scroll down to the field you want to rename and enter the new name in the column next to the default name. Once done click on the close button in the upper right corner then click OK on the Settings screen.

Also I would suggest making a back up copy of your original ProSpace.pmd file and swapping the two files depending on whose planograms you're working on at that time. Just remember to be sure ProSpace is closed when you do it.
