| Do you have products on your planogram that are not rectangular? If so you will want to produce an image with transparencies. Since I work with Wal-Mart images I'm required to save them as Targa 16 bit or higher. Here are the steps to take an image of something like a plate or a non-rectangle. If you use Adobe Photoshop you will want to crop your image to the very edge on all 4 sides. Then use the "magic wand" selector tool to select the areas that you want to be transparent. If the image was shot against a background with a consistent color that would make selecting much easier. With all empty areas selected at the same time hit your delete key then go to Select on the menu and click on Save Selection. Give it the name Alpha 1 then click OK. Next save the image as a Targa file (TGA). Adobe will ask you what bit you want. Select the highest available. If you plan on giving this image to Wal-Mart for their use you will need to make sure that any image saved in this format is sized between 500-100Meg. The closer to 500 the better the quality when zooming in. To resize the image select Image from the menu and then Resize. Just reduce the number to make it smaller until it's file size is where you need it. | |
